My Students

Hello Everyone!!!

Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Ms. Sandigo and I am the SPED teacher of a self-contained elementary classroom.

My class consists of 10 students with various Intelectual disabilities like Down Syndrome, Autism, and Kat6a syndrome to name a few.

Curriculum and instruction are carefully modified to help these students reach their potential in both academics and other functional areas such as independent living. While these students have limitations in many adaptive behaviors, these limitations will co-exist alongside strengths in other areas within the individual. Independence is always the primary goal of all instructional strategies employed with my students.

My Project

My classroom has a small closet that we use as our locked-down room. My students are either on wheelchairs and/or gait trainers therefore our closet feels even smaller. I would like to organize my closet to make more room for my students and paraprofessionals. These two shelving units will help create the space I need for my students' and staffs' safety.

Shelving units for our classroom closet is just what we need to give us more space for drill or in case of emergencies since wheelchairs and gait trainers need more space.
