My Students
My students come from all different backgrounds. I have 28 bright individuals who thrive in a creative, elaborate, and diverse classroom. Most of my students speak a second language other than English. The languages that are represented in my class are Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, and many more.
We all come from different backgrounds, but in our virtual classroom, we are one community.
My class is a sweet bunch that includes and welcomes anyone who comes into the classroom. I love their enthusiasm to learn every day!
My Project
As we prepare to return for in-person learning, our classrooms are going to get a huge makeover to make it safe for students to learn. While you may have seen my room with collaborative learning groups, flexible seating, a comfy library, and lots of pillows, it is going to look a lot different as we head back into the classroom.
Flexible seating allows students to have choice and control over their learning environment.
Students need to move around and it keeps them more alert and focused during class. Flexible seating will also allow for comfort during the day. It will encourage students to find their best spot and stay calm, focused, and productive. Traditional desks can make students feel unweary about their space in the classroom. Having flexible seating encourages them to take turns safely in different locations of the classroom. This will provide a creative system.
