My students need stools to replace the adult-sized chairs in my classroom. Teaching a group of students that ranges in age from 5-13 means I need a versatile seat.

My Students
In the past three school years, our art program has grown into a a strong part of our school community. I am working to improve the classroom environment, and want to replace our chairs with stools more suitable to a variety of ages. With kindergarten and 8th grade sharing a space, this is hard!
Our school is a neighborhood school in one of the largest urban areas in America.
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and create a diverse school community. Many students walk to school from the surrounding neighborhood, and some take public transportation or ride the bus from other parts of the city. They all come to our school because of the strong community our hard-working teachers and parents have built over the past few years. Help keep us strong!
My Project
We currently have old plastic chairs that are difficult to stack, too big for most of our students, and that take up a large amount of space in our small classroom. I am requesting stools that will be safer, will take up less space, and will be more well-suited to both smaller and larger students. Every day, I have kindergarteners swinging their feet, kicking under the table because their feet don't touch the ground. They try to kneel in the chairs, and they sometimes put arms and legs through a hole in the back of the chair. With stools, we can open up more space, and we can keep our kids safe in our work space.
These stools will create more space in a crowded classroom, and they will keep our students safer than over-sized chairs.
With ample seating, our student artists will be more focused and productive in a classroom where they are learning important skills.
