Safe Play for Every Student: Pe Equipment Needed

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is a Title I school in Southeast San Diego. We serve 356 diverse UTK–5th grade students, all receiving free lunch. Unfortunately, our youngest learners currently have no functioning PE equipment while our upper graders have a few broken items, and injuries are increasing—one kindergartener even broke her collarbone this month due to running being their only form of activity at playtime.

We’re seeking funding for assorted balls and scooter boards, especially for our UTK and Kindergarten students, to promote safe, developmentally appropriate movement as we don't currently have any working equipment.

The scooters, balls and jump ropes will be available to all students during PE and recess.

Your support will help provide safe options for physical activity, reduce injuries and support gross motor skills, encourage inclusive, joyful, and structured play, and help build healthy habits in a safe environment
