Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All My students come from all over the world creating a culturally rich English Language Learners (ELL) group. Our school has the fortune of having over six different languages spoken by ELLs. My school is located in a disadvantaged neighborhood, we have 98% minorities in the school, from which 16% are ELLs. This Title I elementary school, 100% of the students are all eligible for free lunch.
All my ELL students are driven to learn English and succeed academically; but often they lack the basic supplies for school.
My students come to English as a New Language (ENL) to learn how to speak, read and write English with the goal of transition into a regular all- English classroom. They come with a positive and respectful attitude and hard work ethics. Funds are next to non-existent for basic school supplies and a bookcase to place their work and some books are essential to support their learning goals; I am looking for generous donors to help us replace the ancient and dangerously unstable bookcases in our ENL classroom and basic school supplies for my students.
My Project
My students are English Language Learners, or ELLs, will use the basic supplies for their daily classwork and homework activities.
The bookcase, the magazine holders & organizers will neatly hold their work by grade and group (grades 2nd to 5th) and existing books.
The bookcase will replace the 20-year-old bookcases that are unsafe in their current state. Funds are next to non-existent for school supplies and a bookcase to place their work and some books are essential to support their learning goals; I am looking for generous donors to help us replace the ancient and dangerously unstable bookcases in our ENL classroom and basic school supplies for my students. Thank you for your generosity!
