Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from low-income families and with challenging backgrounds. Most parents can't afford the materials needed for their child to attend school. With this pandemic, many have been affected and are worried to come back to school. I want both, students and parents, to feel safe in our classroom. I would like to provide the necessary to have a clean, safe classroom for my students and for myself.
My Project
I have started teaching hybrid with 9 students in person and 5 students online. Our school district is requiring all students to complete assignments online, regardless if they are in person or online. Few of my students have not been able to log in to complete assignments because they do not have a device. I have provided my own tablet to one of my students but I am still in need of more.
All my students want to be in the classroom, and they deserve to be in this place we can call their second home.
That is why I also want to provide them with an air purifier to help us keep a clean and safe classroom for everyone. I want both my students and parents to feel comfortable about attending school.
