This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hello everyone, I am a Restorative Specialist at a middle school, and I work closely with some of the most at-risk youth, as well as the entire student population on our campus. Our student population is largely composed of students from low socio-economic backgrounds.
With your help and donation towards Pokémon, Lorcana, and Magic: The Gathering cards I can host a Tabletop Lunch club where students can develop essential cognitive, social, and emotional skills in a fun and engaging way.
Tabletop is more than just a game, it fosters critical thinking, strategic planning, social interaction, and emotional regulation. Students learn valuable life skills such as problem-solving and logic through game mechanics. Reading comprehension and math fluency in every play session. Teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship during group play.
These card games create a safe, inclusive space where students can bond, express themselves, and build confidence. Especially those who may not typically connect through traditional academic or athletic avenues.
