This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. My students are all different types of learners and have various backgrounds. I have students who do not speak English, students with disabilities, and some students who are homeless.
I teach at a Title I school in New York where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students receive food and clothing from the school's charity drives. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
The upcoming school year will be one of the most challenging for everyone due to the fear of getting COVID 19. These cleaning supplies, disinfectant spray and paper towels, will allow me to clean all the classroom surfaces down everyday, multiple times a day from September through December at least.
With students returning to a hot, sticky room, with no almost no ventilation, where they will be all day learning and eating lunch without masks, germs, diseases, and viruses will spread.
My classroom is on the fourth floor, with, no AC, and only three windows that open about 4 inches, and in the summer months the heat is unbearable. I need these supplies to keep my students and their families safe. If I have these supplies, I can ensure that my classroom is clean and I can assure the students and their families, proper cleaning is taking place!
