Safe And Fun Space For Kids!

My students need 4 sets of fun and educational games to help support a fun and safe learning environment.

This project is fully funded

I am a school social worker. My job is to make sure the school is a safe and supportive space where learning can happen. I work at a high needs public middle school in California where poverty is high, and many students are learning english.

One of my (many) goals is to decrease school violence. By providing a fun, safe, supervised space during lunchtime, we hope to decrease the number of lunchtime fights as well as foster positive relationships amongst students who would not normally speak to one another.

We hope to create a lunchtime hangout/chill room during lunchtime where students can come play educational board games, work on an arts/crafts projects, listen to music, and do homework.

Your support will have a positive and direct impact on the students at my school. This project will help support a safe environment where students can come to this space and avoid uncomfortable, and possibly violent situations. At another public middle school in the same city, where another similar space opened at lunchtime, lunchtime fights decreased by over 50%! Please support this project!
