My Students

Our school is a high poverty school with 100% of our students on free and reduced-price lunch, but its status and label do not define our students. The students at our school come from various backgrounds and cultures and enrich the environment of our school because of these differences. They treat each other as family and try to be kind to all visitors and guests.

The rest of the island and many outsiders look at our coast as tough and rough, and some not so smart, but the children at our school are strong in their decision-making and try their best in their academics every day.

My Project

With Covid on the rise again, we want to be able to do everything in our power to keep our kids safe and healthy to continue in-person learning. We have spent the last two years really doing our best to disinfect the room, materials, and spaces of interaction so that our kids could have somewhat of a "normal" classroom experience.

The pre-kindergarten setting is very hands-on and has a lot of interactions between peers.

This allows students to develop physically, socially, and emotionally. But due to state and school regulations, a lot of that interaction is now limited. Your support in this project would help us restock things that we are running short of as we move into the next semester to allows those interactions to be possible.

By donating to this project, you are helping to restock our classroom's current needs to keep it clean and disinfected to the best of our abilities so that we can try to keep our kids in a safer environment amidst a global pandemic.
