My Project
Our classroom has a sad and empty-looking calming corner and we need your donations to give it a makeover.
We need comfy pillows to add softness and safety.
Children with autism easily become frustrated and at times may not be able to regulate their own systems. They require a safe place to go to calm down and relax. Having a weighted sloth stuffy would be beneficial to them. They could place it on their lap and the weight could give them the input that they are seeking out. Having lots of fidget toys will also keep them calm. Having light-up sensory toys will also help my students relax and focus their attention away from their behaviors.
In order for my kiddos to be able to sit and learn they need to be able to focus. They cannot learn if they become upset and behaviors will occur. That's why we need you to help alleviate their stress by donating to our calming corner.
