Sad Classroom Library: Books Needed To Build Strong Brains
My students need grade level books in our classroom library to help them feel successful when reading independently and to help jump start their reading journey.

My Students
Studies show that reading for pleasure offsets the negative neural effects of our digital world. Video games and the like are here to stay. Luckily, so are BOOKS! Help my students and their brains get the jump start of the wonderful world of reading!
My kindergarten students are imaginative movers and shakers.
We are a low income charter school with no budget for classroom or school library expansion. My current classroom library has very few grade level books available for my students to read to themselves.
My Project
Even now, with my pitiful classroom library, my student's excitement overflows as the come to me pointing out words they know. "Look Ms. Amy! It's our sight word!" Imagine their exuberance when they can read the whole book to me! With your donations, my students can expand their horizons, their minds, and their love of reading.
The best way to sum up the impact of your donation is thus: we learn to read in K-2, then we read to learn throughout our lives.
Together we can create life-long learners and foster creative minds.
