Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students that are participating in this project are passionate, hardworking, and dedicated. These 7th and 8th-grade students are preparing for the Los Angeles Marathon in March of 2023. They train after school 3-4 days a week including the weekends. They are dedicated to improving their run time, overall fitness, and helping one another accomplish their run goals. This group of 16 students have become close-knit family.
Running and training has improved our students' physical and mental health since we have started training.
The running belts will help students be able to run without having to carry phones, water and supplies that they may need. Our weather constantly changes and training can be extremely exhausting from running in the heat. We need every student to have sufficient water during long training run days and during races.
