Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would like to challenge my classes to "run to the moon". During each class students will be given pedometers and measure how many steps they take each period.
Each class will be running to the moon and collectively each class will track their distance and see how much each group contributes toward the collective distance to the moon (240,000) miles.
The students will be able to track their groups progress but still have a healthy contest with other grade levels within the school. Each student will be encouraged to move the whole period and the class that contributes the largest amount of steps will receive a prize, creating a healthy competition.
