Our school is situated in a beautiful northern California community. The school serves students in grades K-5 with a rigorous academic curriculum provided by dedicated teachers and supported by involved parents. Our goal is to set a foundation for our students’ success in high school, college and the world beyond. As a result, we are a high-performing school.
My students are a group of artistic and imaginative 5th graders who love to create and work together.
Picture a classroom of energetic, kinesthetic, and visual learners who love new challenges with hands-on activities. My class is filled with talented students who have a broad range of interests, needs, and learning styles. They enjoy working independently and collaboratively to solve real world problems. I find that when I integrate the arts and activity with the academics, they respond with greater enthusiasm. They grasp new ideas with eagerness when the concepts are tied to real world skills.
My Project
My students have planned an end of year event to create companionship among grade levels and students of all ages. With the help of parents and teachers, they have planned supportive field events including a fun run for all ages, a friendship run for our special needs students, and other special activities to bring the students, staff and families together for a culminating experience to the year. They would like to leave their elementary school with a legacy of developing collaboration among the students in the spirit of fun and friendship.
To create a safe and orderly environment for these field activities, my students need safety equipment such as cones, flags, vests, tape and whistles.
These items will ensure a safer environment and can be used for years to come.
