This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are special for the mere fact of their dedication to not only being a great athlete or academics but an all-around better human being. I see this daily with their compassion towards each other. Being a teen is hard enough, but the world tugging at them with expectations and demands that some may not think they can achieve. The environment we are building here at HMS is one for each of them to be true to themselves, but also foster a place of love and acceptance.
My Project
The athletes can feel when they are dressed as a team they can now perform as one as well. The needed equipment is to ensure our athletes are able to perform at top level. The shot put allows each group of boys and girls to practice with more repetition, replacement spikes allow the runners' shoes to be in safe mode. Due to time and usage, the spikes wear down and are hard to remove. The drawstring bags are a morale booster due to the face the team will be in uniform together and their personal belongings will be secure from being taken while competing.
