This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My bilingual students are fun loving and very social! Most are on a free and reduced lunch plan but that’s doesn’t limit their enjoyment for learning! They enjoy learning during literacy stations on the rug and are able to achieve the most success when they are working together towards a common goal. My students favorite stations is reading with their partner because they are able to listen to each read and aid each other. One time I had 4 partners reading on my small rug area. They were all jumbled up but it was nice to see them focused on their partner and the book
My Project
I can picture my students faces lighting up with joy as they see the new rug in the classroom! I want them to continue to read with their partner but in a way where they can have a little more wiggle room to maybe even read laying down! They will be able to not just read together but work on their writing skills by creating stories cooperatively and independent. We will also be able to have our morning meetings on the rug and discuss our classroom goals and both our individual and class achievements! By donating you can help me achieve this!
