This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom rug is beyond repair! We have been very diligent in vacuuming our rug area every day. Despite our best efforts, the rug is not any less grimy. It is so bad, that a few students are having allergic reactions to the rug. Our custodial staff have scrubbed it down to the best of their ability but it barely made a difference. I have personally bought a rug cleaner and have come in two weekends in a row to try to clean our classroom rug but to no avail. I have personally resolved to scrub each square as best I can, a herculean task that takes about 40 minutes per square. This is not feasible to keep doing for future years to come as I have limited mobility.

A new rug would ensure a sanitary space to learn and peace of mind for both students and families.

Please help me give my current and future students a clean space to participate in group instructions.
