My Students
Five words that I could describe my classroom: authentic, supportive, engaging, community, and explore. Students in my class have ownership of their own learning and a lot of what goes on happens organically. Because of the passion I have for my 1st grade and my strong desire to share it with the kids, the class is definitely engaging. Even though our class is a mix of Asian and Hispanic students, it is also a great opportunity for the children to learn from each other. "Same but different."
My Project
During the covid condition, no rug was allowed in the school building. I want to provide a variety of materials that will allow several alternative seating options to replace the rug. We're looking for some flex-space comfy floor seats, which will really let us stay cozy while working!
With the materials being provided, the children can enjoy their personal space while they are in the cozy and comfort zone, which can lead their learning experience a better way!
Children will also be able to improve their social-emotional skills because they will need to learn how to share and take turns.
