My Project
A new rug will make our music room a much cozier place to learn for both lower and upper elementary students. This big rug will also absorb loud sounds and make the room a much better place for playing percussion and band instruments.
A new rug will increase participation, engagement, and academic achievement.
By donating to this project, you will make the room cozier for younger students, providing them with a place where they can explore music in a safe, comfortable environment. You will also be helping upper elementary students by improving the sound quality of the music room. Currently, the room's walls, floor, and ceiling are hard, sound-reflecting surfaces. This year, I was forced to shorten our recorder and West African drumming units because the harshness of the sound was hurting students’ sensitive ears! This large rug will cover most of the floor and make the sound of the room more pleasing for playing instruments.
