My Students

Our school is a safe place for many students who experience struggles of various forms. The teachers at my school not only educate students with reading and writing lessons, but we also nurture the development of the whole child. Our students work on the basic skills with their families yet need guidance and materials to help foster those extra and additional education experiences that may only be found at school with their classmates. My focus as a science specialist is to make sure that students get to experience hands-on lessons as much as possible by providing materials they may not have access to at home that allow students time to experiment and investigate.

My Project

My students are desperate to learn coding, robotics and apply hands on technology experiences to their daily learning. I know these coding robots will create engaging lessons where students can explore basic coding skills using other technology we already have in our schools. Since the students have had a lot of time on their technology and have become attached, I want to open them up to other ways to experiences technology in a purposeful way to further their 21st century skills. Coding skills in elementary will build a basic understanding of the skills in the hopes that they sign up for more technology classes in middle and high school.
