This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are all delightful children with various disabilities, but each one has a smile that will melt your heart. I work with children diagnosed with autism, cognitive impairment, communication impairment, and specific learning disability.
My students are all a joy to work with, each having their own strengths and weaknesses.
Some of my students are verbal, others communicate with gestures, pictures, and some sign. I love to help them find their way to communicate. I love to see the glitter in their eye when they make an achievement or make their needs and wants known. I love to be the one to provide them with what it is that they desire when they ultimately communicate!
My Project
This table will help my students so that my students can help each other when doing table work, work collaboratively, and have great discussions at the table. I will be able to see everyone's work more effectively and be able to help each student on an individual basis more easily with this kidney shaped table. My students need more individualized attention. My students could engage in more social situations when sitting at a table like this. Also as a speech therapist, I can better show my visual models and pictures more easily to each of my students when sitting at a kidney table such as this.
