This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I love the cultural diversity and multiple intelligences that my students bring to our learning environment. Every student contributes their own personal experiences, interests, and talents that enliven our daily learning experiences.
This school year I will be working with a group of 35 students, ten are English Language Learners, and seven are diverse learners with individualized educational plans.
What makes them special is their resilience and perseverance to overcome challenges in their own learning experiences. My students thrive when they are given choice and encouraged to find the answers to their own lingering questions. The greatest satisfaction is guiding my students through their own inquiry and observing their elation when they have succeeded at a task.
My Project
My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment for my students. That is why I am asking for cushioned swivel chairs for my classroom. It is difficult for anyone to sit in uncomfortable seats for an extended period of time, so it definitely should not be required for kids to do so.
The swivel chairs will provide comfort and movement for my students.
Kids need to be comfortable in their seats if they're working on a task that requires them to stay in one place. The swivel chairs will definitely help with that. At the same time, the chairs will also allow some movement, which is especially beneficial for my students with ADHD. If students are comfortable then they will be able to focus better and stay committed to a task longer. Please help me to finally do away with the uncomfortable traditional chairs in my classroom.
