My Project

Teaching in an environment where the kids generally enjoy coming to school and applying the knowledge they learn to real world applications creates a safe and engaging learning environment.

What I love most about my students is their self-advocacy; they tell me what they want to learn.

For example, one student stuggested fly tying in wildlife and how to identify species through tracks and scat!

My students learn better with hands-on learning. Through items like the scat and tracks molds, students will be able to make examples of these identifying factors and practice with them for contest. Items such at the incubator will allow the students to learn about the life cycle of a chicken and its needs, full circle. The items based around plants and soils will allow the students to perform soil testing and grow plants in different mediums from soil to water to air. All of these skills help with the skills needed to compete at the county, area, regional, and state level.

My goal with this project is to meet the needs of my students through scaffolding learning, teaching students in multiple learning styles, and letting them explore and experience for themselves so that they understand the why factor in the learning environment.
