My Students
My first graders are energetic and enthusiastic students. They enjoy learning and active play. They get so excited when it is time to be active and to learn new activities throughout the day.
My first graders represent many diverse ethnic backgrounds and come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
There is a wide range of academic abilities in our classroom. Students are eager to learn and strive to do their best at all times. They enjoy interactive and hands-on learning.
My Project
These read aloud books will be used weekly in our classroom. My students will be engaged and excited to dig deep into these mentor texts to learn how to infer, question, predict, make connections and identify key details.
These books will be used to teach many reading and writing skills and strategies daily in our first grade classroom.
Students will learn about the craft and structure of a text to help them with their reading and writing. These higher level texts will challenge my students and bring out their best. Reading is something I am passionate about, and I hope to instill a love a reading into my first graders.
