This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are low-income, English Language Learners. They live and attend school in the inner city. My students are ready to learn every single day.
My students have many disadvantages that make it difficult for them to master grade-level skills in math, and science.
Home issues and lack of language often sets them back. They are enthusiastic about learning new things. They ask questions and are respectful and motivated to learn. They are fast learners and technology has definitely helped them learn to express themselves in various ways.
My Project
These materials will help my students take pride in their classroom. The supplies we are asking for will help us decorate our classroom with student work and make it last for years.
Students need to see their work up in the classroom to feel proud of it.
It is essential that their work is displayed, and the work that they are most proud of will be laminated and sent home for parents to keep. Also, the work they do in digital format looks so much better in color, so the toner will help with that. Dry erase markers are the best for practice without having to run copies of skills they work on every day.
