Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom will be full of fun and energetic 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders receiving academic support and interventions in small groups. These students will also be receiving behavior management strategies and skills they need to be successful in their classroom. Our students will range from a variety of learning, behavioral, and emotional abilities.
About 70% of the students attending our school are from low-income backgrounds from different high-need communities in Chicago.
Although some of our students and their families have faced challenges since the pandemic started, they still love school and are eager to learn!
Each teacher that shares the space will work with multi-grade levels. When the students walk into our classroom, our goal is for each one of them to feel welcomed, supported, cared for, and most importantly, safe!
