This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I believe that every child has the right to attend school free of bullies. But let's face it, bullying is a problem in many schools regardless of the socio-economic status of the community. It's something that we as educators must address and prepare all students to deal with.

My students attend school in a very poor section of Los Angeles.

Far from the glitz and glamor of Beverly Hills. Their school is nestled among factories, train tracks, and a close by soup kitchen. Gang violence is an everyday thing and for many of my students it's the norm. They all qualify for free federal lunches. Many students spend countless hours at school weekly from 6 am to 6 pm. They live in sub-standard conditions and yet they come to school with hopes and aspirations to learn and become the best students they can be. My students are amazingly sweet and giving. All they need is someone to believe in them and support their learning. My students want to learn and be successful.

My Project

Bullying in Schools will help me teach students what to do in different situations where bullying occurs. It will also help build character education and promote a safe learning environment. In addition, Bully-Proof Your Classroom Teaching Kit, will help students by giving different scenarios where students can role play and seek appropriate attention to bullying in the classroom and in the school yard. Also literature like Ant and the Big Bad Bully Goat will help illustrate that bullying can happen to anyone. It will also help illustrate where to seek help and that bullying can happen anywhere.

Bullying in Schools, Bully-Proof Your Classroom Teaching Kit, and a collection of Anti-bullying literature will help me teach my students how to prevent bullying at school and out in their neighborhood.

These materials are essential so that all students are prepared and know how to handle a situation where they may be bullied. Everyone has the right to learn in safe and nurturing environment. Please help me provide the best learning environment.
