My Students
I am a 3rd grade Emergent teacher in my school. My students read significantly below grade level upon entering the third grade. My biggest challenge is filling the enormous gaps in their reading levels and providing them with the confidence they need to be successful in reading.
Our school is a Title I school and students are very transient.
In other words, most of our students have attended several schools by the time they end up here with me. They struggle in reading, writing, and basic math skills. They are eager to learn and want to be successful.
My Project
I need to go to the Ron Clark Academy to learn to help my students enjoy and love reading. I will use the strategies I learn at the conference with my students to ensure their academic success. I hope to learn how to use these strategies to motivate student engagement, boost self-confidence, and create global educational opportunities for all of my students.
By funding this project, you will be ensuring students will receive the best education possible from their teacher.
I will have even more tools to use in my classroom to fill in the gaps.
