My students need 30 each of the texts, "Romiette and Julio" and "Romeo and Juliet (Shakespeare Made Easy)".

I'm a 2nd year inner city school teacher who has been switched from teaching 2nd grade to 6th-8th grade language arts 2 weeks before school starts.

Going into the classroom, I will have zero books to work with and limited curriculum resources. These books would be put to great use.

As a new teacher, I have seen many students in the urban setting failing to connect to many of the books deemed to be classics. These books would offer the real world connection to Romeo and Juliet. I taught 2nd grade this past school year and two weeks to go, I've been told I'll be teaching 6th-8th grade language arts. I have many good ideas for what to incorporate into the curriculum, one including the project comparing Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to the book Romiette and Julio. This would be a large unit because of the time spent on both books, and then creating a compare and contrast essay on the books.

Your help will give my students literature they can relate to, both in classics and contemporary.
