My Students
I believe in noise. I believe that when students are interacting with one another, through class discussions, then learning takes place. My students are usually moving around and collaborating with each other. Talking to and through literature takes the level of learning to another level.
We are the Bobcats!
We are a 12th grade English class. Our school is focusing on rigor in the classroom. We are using technology and small group instruction to increase higher thinking in the classroom. Our goal is to develop college and career readiness skills in our students to prepare them for the future.
My Project
In my classroom, I focus on small group instruction. Through the use of these iPads, we will be able to utilize educational apps to enhance learning. I am wanting to increase the use of technology by having my students work in groups to create multimedia presentations. I am also wanting to start using student blogging in the classroom as well to enhance the writing process in my Senior English class. The iPads will also allow virtual field trips to take place, fun review activities for tests, grammar practice, and other activities in the classroom. Our system has funded Microsoft Office for all devices so having iPads will allow students to learn PowerPoint, Word, and other programs.
Technology is a thriving force in the career world today.
Businesses are demanding the use of technology and students are the forefront of this thriving force. Technology enhances learning and as a result students are more engaged. The use of iPads in the classroom will be a positive tool to increase learning amongst students.
