We are very mobile in our classroom and we try to be flexible in providing alternative seating for our students. Our students love to act like the teachers so we would love to have 3 gaming chairs to use for different activities where we showcase our students, such as during Show N Tell times. We have multiple opportunities where our students are the Author for the Moment when they read a part of a story that they really enjoy; they do their beginning of the Year Get to Know Me Projects, and we do spotlights on learning when we let students show their classmates things they are really good at.
We give them the stage to show their classmates what they know and what they have learned.
Some of our students speak up when they have an extra incentive like using a microphone and speaker or sitting in a flexible seat option to engage with their classmates so we would love to have the seats to put in the class library and the Morning Meeting area where we host our large group activities and our showcase learning times. We also like to have students help us read during teacher read alouds and some students are able to lead the retelling, so giving them an elevated seat will help boost their confidence when it is their turn.
