Rolling, Rolling, Rolling The Teacher Keeps On Rolling...
My classroom needs a rolling task chair.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Power's classroom raised $244
This project is fully funded
I want to be rolling, rolling, rolling from student to student while I conference and work with them, within their groups.I teach an inclusion class of both special ed. and general ed. students in 4th grade. I am located in New York.
We are a considerably high-needs area, with many children born addicted to drugs. My focus is to meet the needs of every child in the class. I have found that the children benefit greatly from the conference times we share at their desks. I would like the ability to "roll" from desk to desk on a chair, as opposed to walking and squatting down beside them. A rolling desk chair would allow me the ability to quickly, quietly and efficiently meet with all the children in my class. I have an issue with my lower back, and this squatting position reduces the time I can spend with each child.
I need a comfortable rolling chair with quiet wheels and easy mobility. I need to be able to look my students in the eyes as I conference with them at their desks. They require constant refocusing and with me sitting beside them, looking at them in the face, I can hold their attention better. I need to be able to spend an unlimited amount of time next to them, with out thought of standing up, because my back and legs are "falling asleep" or cramping up.
With your help, I can utilize my "one on one" time to the max! I can sit comfortably with a student for a long or brief period of time. In a 20 minute time span, I can roll around the room and "grab a moment" with everyone.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
