My Students
Situated in a small town, our school is a Title-1 school with a high percentage of students who receive free or reduced lunch. Our classroom is full of students who have multiple abilities and are working to overcome many roadblocks.
Each day when my students walk into my classroom, my goal is to immerse them in meaningful experiences that will motivate and inspire them.
My team and I work hard to provide experiences that will create opportunities for growth and learning.
My Project
My students need a cart with an induction cook top, toaster oven and kitchen supplies including a frying pan, measuring cups and bowls. Food is a universal need and an amazing learning tool. Students are excited to cook in class and enjoy working together to measure and create treats that they will get to eat and share. By creating a kitchen cart, I will be able to involve my class in cooking on a more consist basis. My goal would be to plan to have weekly cooking on our schedule, working to integrate our current content and important life skills that students need to learn.
Cooking is a tool that motivates the students in my classroom, putting the books and pencils away and diving in with their brains and their hands to explore and expand their minds.
