This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners who are full of energy, curiosity, and so much potential. Many of them are just beginning to access language, and they learn best through hands-on, visual experiences that make abstract ideas come to life. That’s what makes them so special—they’re resilient, creative problem-solvers who approach learning in a completely unique way.

The Sphero BOLT+ robot will allow our students to explore the world of coding through movement, lights, and visual patterns they can see and interact with.

Instead of relying on sound-based instructions, they’ll be able to program the robot using visual blocks and watch their code come to life in real time. This kind of learning builds logical thinking, encourages communication, and supports teamwork—all through play.

Our goal for this project is to introduce foundational STEM concepts in a way that’s fully accessible to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across multiple classrooms. We want our students to see that they can be coders, creators, and problem-solvers. With your help, we can give them the tools to learn, explore, and shine in a world built for hearing learners—one glowing, rolling robot at a time.
