Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a low socio-economic urban school located in one of the smallest and poorest communities in Los Angeles, California. It services the needs of socially economical disadvantage students from grades K-5. I am the new intervention teacher who enjoys teaching students the foundational skills needed in order to learn how to read. My students are beautiful, fun spirited 1st Graders who you can’t help but love and embrace them.
When my students learn something new, they thought was too hard to learn, their eyes light up like a radiant star; their mouths erupt, like popcorn kernels popping in a hot sizzling pan.
They can’t wait to share what they have learned with their classroom teacher. They can’t wait to return back to my classroom to learn more.
My Project
Since starting a new position as an intervention teacher, I have been moved to the opposite side of the school campus. The rolling cart I would normally use to carry my materials and laptop to work and home has been used to carry my intervention materials back and forth to my students classroom, so I can assist them and the teachers within their classroom.
I need your help to replace the rolling bag that has fallen apart, so I do not have to carry the materials needed in my hands back and forth across campus to service students who are in my intervention program.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
