My Project
My students are so diverse in the way the learn, the way they play, and the way they read. Each of them bring something special and unique to our classroom of learners.
Our classroom is such an exciting place to be because of this diversity.
One of the many things that they are working on this school year is building fluency and comprehension when they are reading. My students love to read! They often will use the pictures to help them read and tell a story. They enjoy reading books with a partner. They love when I read aloud to the class and act out stories. They want to be able to engage with books the same way. These resources will help keep them engaged in those reading tasks and activities. These leveled readers will boost their confidence when reading. The colorful pictures, age appropriate topics, and short text will provide them opportunities to make connections to the text and keep them engaged. These leveled readers will also help build their writing skills and confidence when using word attack strategies.
The kindergarten years are so important to foster independence, early reading skills, concepts of print, word families, and identifying story elements from a text. I am confident that these leveled readers are exactly what my students need to be successful readers in first grade and become lifelong readers.
