Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come from a diverse, inclusive neighborhood located in the southeast part of Austin. The close-knit community of families and the school’s highly educated faculty work collaboratively to provide an environment that fosters each child’s development and success.
What I love about my students is their hunger to learn about how things work.
I'm really excited to see how fast they learn from their successes and failures.
Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My 2nd graders will begin to do team and independent work which builds musicianship skills. It is my hope to have these students performing at school-wide events as soon as possible. With the addition of these recorders, my students will be exposed to a more advanced repertoire in and out of the classroom. This will enhance the environment not only in the classroom but on the concert stage as well.
The recorder will play many roles in our music programs for the students.
I am excited to see how far my students will be able to go on their recorders, and even more excited to see more students benefiting from this program at our school.
