My Project
Hello! I am an elementary resource special education teacher. This will be my second year in elementary and I am still building on my classroom to make it the best possible. Students sometimes need a place and time to regain themselves after feeling overwhelmed. And students need to have consistency and organized areas to learn.
That being said, I have requested some items to help make my classroom have more organization and run with more consistency.
I have requested some headphones for my classroom this will allow students to access the reading accommodation while they are using their chromebooks. The headphones hangers will be used to store them properly, hopefully this will allow them to last longer. Some of my students have sensory to loud sounds and the noise canceling headphones will help them to focus beyond the noise. The wobble chair and fidget toys will help my students with ADHD and focus issues. The rug will help the class have a casual and comfortable area to have group lessons and this will allow the students to not have to always be in the chairs that can seem stiff at times. The storage drawers will be placed at every table and will have the daily supplies for each student. The drawers will help to lessen the students being up in the classroom. This will help the students stay more organized as well. And lastly the timer, it will be used in the calm down area. When a student is needing a break due to being overwhelmed in some fashion they will get a set time to be in the area to gather themselves.
