Help me give my students the starter STEM kits to introduce them to the world of robotics. The two kits will help them spark that interest in the field of technology.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students are at-risk, economically disadvantaged, and 80% of them receive a free or reduced-price lunch. The students are very eager to learn the new innovative technology that is used across the world but due to budget cut backs in career and technology courses they often have to use outdated technology to learn.
I have borrowed some robots and also purchased some in the pass to expose them to robotics.
To see the excitement in their eyes when working as a team to create a robot is awesome.
My Project
The LEGO kits will give the students the opportunity to step into the shoes of an engineer and build a robot from scratch. It can even be used to help students who might struggle to learn in traditional classroom settings. Giving this experience, they'll build their tech savvy skills along the way, and even get thinking about how science can solve real-world situations.
Students learn new skills and develop their knowledge.
It helps students improve their attention, design, and teamwork skills. It brings students together to do something fun and worthwhile.
This will give them the experience to learn and hopefully be able to compete.
