I love being an elementary music teacher! My third grade students have learned how to read notes and rests, and also the notes on the treble clef staff. Now it is time to put it all together and learn how to play an instrument!
The instrument I have chosen is the soprano recorder which is a small, plastic flute.
Having an instrument in their hands makes it so exciting and these students have counted down the years and months until they get their very own recorders in third grade!
Once they have their recorders, we will work on learning how to hold the instrument, blow into it, and to read the notes while pressing down the correct fingers. What an exciting time for these kids!
