Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
With the holidays around the corner, and the winter season just beginning, what better way to spread love and compassion than through music. My students are a wide range of ages with the youngest being 5 years old, and the oldest being 14 or 15 years. This is the first year that my students are given the opportunity to have a music education in school. I would love for my students to have a rockin' first year experience.
My students deserve to have an enriching and rigorous music program.
In order to ensure this, the classroom needs to be equipped with tools and supplies that support the students' learning needs, as well as supplies that will deepen their learning and musical experiences.
My Project
The music stands will be used daily in lessons when the students are performing. Students will be given their own copies of the music so that they can read it while performing their instruments. This will also be used for the students' after school club-the marching band! The keys will be important for my students to learn keyboard, to be the rockstars they truly are! The outcome is for students to understand the basics of performing-melody, harmony, and chords. The keyboards will also be used to create their own class song at the end of the year.
