Help me give my students crayons, glue sticks, and scissors so they can start the school year off right! We need Lysol wipes and the Cottonelle Wipes so we can keep ourselves and our classroom clean!
This year, I am working with a great bunch of first graders! In my class, I have 30 of the most loving, caring, and brightest scholars! They come to school hungry, looking for a safe environment to be themselves. Our school provides breakfast and lunch to our children.
My students and I have created a safe, engaging, homelike environment for us to learn and grow together.
We will use this time together not only for them to grow as students, soaking in information, reaching their goals and moving on to the next grade, but also for me to grow as a teacher.
That's where DonorsChoose.org comes in. My students are from Detroit. Not everyone can buy school supplies, and our school is fairly new. We don't have all of the materials that well established schools have.
My Project
The first day of school is such an important day! Children are coming in excited to learn! Some students in my classroom can afford classroom supplies. Others cannot. By funding this project, you are making sure that every child in my classroom starts on the first day of school with everything they need to learn.
At our school, we start learning from day 1.
The children are excited to begin this learning process. We want to keep that excitement going by making sure everyone feels included, and that everyone has the supplies they need. 1st grade is a great time, and the beginning of the school year is one of the most fun and exciting times. Please help us start the school year right!
