This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Margaret Fuller once said: "Fair isn't everyone getting the same thing. Fair is everyone getting what they need in order to be successful." I firmly believe every child should have access to a wide variety of educational tools in order to successfully implement learning in their everyday lives.
I teach a group of 40 bright and eager-to-learn second grade students who come from many different backgrounds.
My students face many challenges because of their limited knowledge of the English Language. Over 90% of the students at my school receive free and reduced lunch which makes our school a Title I school. These children have little access if none to technology at home. My students are a wonderful and sweet bunch. My students are grateful for the opportunities they have to learn, and I enjoy sharing with them my passion of teaching Reading and Writing.
My Project
The addition of two tablets in my classroom would grant my students access to numerous resources, such as leveled appropriate books and apps. It would be utilized in our small group literacy centers. It will create an interactive and highly engaging way to learn. It would greatly benefit and meet the needs of the different learning styles of my visual and auditory learners. All children enjoy technology to learn.
