Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have quite of few things on my donors choose project this time. Teachers always have a wish list of things they would love to have for their students, that they just can't afford.
One of the items I am most excited about receiving is the Botley robots, which will help my students in STEM and will allow the students to code with active, screen free play.
My students in the past have used these when PBS has come to our school and done a lesson with them. I am excited to have them for my students to use often. It helps with coding and technology.
I also have several books to be read aloud to my students. I am excited for them to meet Mercy Watson in the box series I am requesting. Another item on my list is privacy shields for when we are writing or taking assessments. This will allow students the privacy to do their work and not have other students copy them.
One of the last items I have requested is a variety of snacks. Being at a Title I school, some of the families can’t afford a lot of food, including snacks for their child. In Kindergarten, we are always moving around and the kids get hungry, so having snacks on hand will help a lot. If the students are hungry, they are less likely to be paying attention.
