My Students

I work in the inner city. My students live in a low-income neighborhood and struggle with meeting basic needs every day. For many, school is a safe place that feeds them and removes them from the elements.

Since the first day I walked into my school, I knew it was full of talented students and compassionate educators.

I am ready to give these kids another reason to love the days they get to come to school. They need to know that they are valued, cared for, and worth it.

My Project

This year I am one of the coaches for our LEGO Robotics team. We use Mindstorms EV3 robots to teach children how to program and maneuver a field with challenges. This class will help students learn Teamwork, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Discovery, and Fun! These are the core values that our team will promote.

I love being a part of this team because we are going to expose our kids to a whole other world than a typical school day.

Our kids will build something that they can be proud of. This will be an activity where they create and problem solve. We need help getting the materials to give this opportunity to our students.
