Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a very curious bunch. They have and use technology but they have limited opportunities to understand how to make technology work for them, better yet, how to make technology do various kinds of work that robotics and computer science can do well.
They are eager to learn about new things and will step up to the challenges presented to them.
They want to be inspired. They also want the chance to have creative play experiences with technology that can be applied to coding, science, music, and the arts.
My Project
LEGO has produced a "education" robot designed to give students engaging activities to learn about sensors and how to program the robot to perform various tasks.
The new parts and the new colors of the robot should appeal to a wider range of students.
I cannot wait to get them working on the projects.
Out of the box the robot can span different subjects to help connect the learning they experience in math and science. The various lessons that comes from LEGO education will help get them started and eventually, they'll be able to make new challenges to spur others to success.
