This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to learn daily despite the fact that most of them come to school with little or no school supplies. I focus on providing a fun and creative learning environment.
I teach at a Title I school where 100 percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch daily.
My students are regular education and English as a Second Language Learners. Most of my students live in single-parent homes. I know I cannot change the struggles they face at home, but I can make sure their lives at school are positive, exciting and rewarding.
My Project
This is so exciting. Having an opportunity to teach my kids how to use ScratchJr +KIBO Robotics to make their own interactive stories and games will be great. Technology is growing and being able to incorporate it into our learning is going to be awesome. My students will be able to create their own characters and storyboards.
Bringing Robotics to Kindergarten will open a new world of excitement while learning.
This will allow my students to create games and learn how to design their own game. My students will have the opportunity to make their stories and give voice to their characters. We will write our own stories and use this program to bring our writing to life. Using Robotics will allow my students an opportunity to use blocks to create a sequence and bring their robots to life. Many children do not use their hands anymore and this will get them interested and active about learning through robotics.
