Robotics for All!

My Students

My gifted pull-out classroom is a place where students are challenged to think creatively and problem-solve. My students need additional enrichment that cannot always be provided in the regular classroom setting.

My students are bright and excited to learn.

They are full of ideas and questions and they are just waiting for the opportunity to think outside the box.

They do not have many available resources in the classroom. They attend urban public schools and they deserve the same opportunities and experiences as students in more affluent districts.

My Project

The Lego WeDo kits introduce robotics to young children. Most robotics are geared towards older children, but young children are able to understand and apply the basic concepts of coding.

The Lego WeDo gives students real world problems to solve and provides them with guided activities to follow and extend.

The Lego WeDo will enhance students' curiosity and science skills. Robotics teaches creativity and problem-solving. It also teaches computer programming. The earlier children are exposed to coding, the more fluent they become, as with any other concept.

Computer programming is going to be essential for our students when they reach the work force. Students in more affluent districts have exposure to more technology and my students deserve the same exposure.
