This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our library is the center of learning in our elementary school. Our students visit the library often for a variety of reasons and I want to continue to serve them in the best possible way. Our school has approximately 450 students, and it is growing every day.

Our students and their needs are as diverse as the books in my library.

Our school is a Title 1 school with 1/3 of the student population coming from low socioeconomic families. Our elementary school serves Kindergarten through 5th grade students. I am the library media specialist on our campus. Each student in the school comes to the library with their class once a week for 45 minutes.

My Project

Our entire student body will have access to these new and exhilarating materials. Robotics and coding lessons in the library media center will open the doors to new ideas and experiences for students. These resources will bring our elementary library into the 21st century making it a place where students look forward to visiting. Students will see their own ideas come to life as they code and program the robots into action.

Technology is the future.

Every student deserves a chance to manipulate, explore, and challenge themselves with these available technologies making them college and future ready. Help make this a reality for our kids.
